Dear OK-sailors,
The Nordic Championship for OK-dinghies in Varberg 2020 is cancelled. To sail the championship in mid June is of obvious corona reasons not possible. We have looked into the possibility to move the championship to mid August, but because of several reasons we have decided to cancel the event. One important reason is that we can't offer the cheap and near camping - caravan - accommodation facilities in August. Another reason is that we won't be able to give you the same social activities as we had planned with after sail, food and beverages. And of course, the main reason - the corona virus. We don't think it will be possible to have an international event in the summer of 2020. The number of infected people are increasing on the west coast of Sweden. We still don't know if it will be possible to travel inside Sweden during the summer, and it is most unlikely that we will be able to cross borders this summer. Probably the Swedish restriction of not gathering more than 50 persons will also last for long.
Those who have entered and paid their entry fees will have the whole fee returned.
Hopefully we will see you all in Varberg in 2021 or 2022 for the Nordic Championship.
